Aviomune Vaccine

Pigeon Fanciers

Just a reminder that it is critically important to vaccinate your pigeons correctly before the start of the breeding season.

As you may be aware we have isolated the new Pakistani strain of PPMV1 that has caused such devastation in pigeons for the last few years. We have developed an autogenous inactivated combination PPMV1 and NDV that I recommend being used as the sole vaccine for the vaccination of Paramyxovirus in pigeons.

The vaccine is known as PPMV1/NDV vaccine. All breeders should be vaccinated with this vaccine ASAP before breeding season starts. A single vaccination with this vaccine is sufficient in previously vaccinated breeding pigeons. All squeakers should then be vaccinated at 21 days of age with the above vaccine.

Wean into a separate weaning loft and follow the Aviomed weaning program. A booster vaccine with the same vaccine should be done 2 weeks later. A single booster with this vaccine 8 weeks before the start of training will be sufficient for the next year’s racing season.
